Bulgarian archaeologists have discovered a buried man with an iron stick in his chest in the Black Sea town of Sozopol.
The man, who was buried over 700 years ago, was stabbed multiple times in the chest and the stomach, as his contemporaries feared that he would raise from the dead as a vampire, National History Museum director Bozhidar Dimitrov has told local media.

I saw this on the Internet today. How cool!!! Who will play him in the movie?
I saw a film a little while ago, called Strigoi (I think) based on these sorts of “rituals”.
Finds like this create an immediate “what if…”, I think you should make the movie
Very interesting post. Thanks.
No problem, you know me, I love the weird stuff! xx
I love all that type of thing too. Keep giving us these great posts please.
Thanks fellow Loony
I will do my very best. I have some lovely friends on here who now send me links to any stories they find like this because they know I’ll love them, the world is truly a better place because of weird stuff like this xx
You are so right. Life would be dull if we didn’t have all this great stuff going on. I’ll keep watch for what you get next.
Further proof that we humans were really whacked out once upon a time.
I love it! I heard a news story just a few years ago about a corpse dug up and mutilated in a Romanian village due to superstitious locals. For a couple of years, as a small child, my family lived in the same street as a Romanian man who would give my brother and I cloves of garlic! It used to drive my mum mad
I guess we are all still whacked-out, thank goodness x
Interesting….
I love these crazy stories
