After watching Dark Knight Rises, I’d have to vote Batman.

This question piqued my interest greatly…I’m a big a nerd when it comes to both characters in the comic…
Lets compare and contrast first :
Brains
Spiderman/Peter Parker -Genius Level when it comes to science in multiple fields of study, Kind of flies by the sea of his pants sometimes in regards to planning encounters but to be fair his character has matured in that area in the comic book world to come prepared to a battle now.
vs
Batman/Bruce Wayne – Genious Level when it comes to Criminial Science and Forensics, and one hellava Profiler when it comes to the criminal mind,a and a Brilliant Tactician, relies on his money for alot of his science which isnt a bad thing
Fighting Skills –
Batman at first glance (not counting strength & speed ..we will get to that ) WAS the better fighter for sheer technique. BUT NOW I believe Spiderman since he was personally trained in Karate by the Iron Fist (an Avenger) in his own version of Spider Fu you might say. He’s now a much better fighter than he ever was with or without his special powers.
Sheer Strength –
Hands down it goes to Spiderman who can probably lift about 10 tons where as Batman can probably lift maybe 300 lbs on a good day if his back doesn’t go out on him.
Speed –
Again Spiderman can dodge bullets, Batman relies on his suit for that. Augmented with his Speed Spidey has his Spidey sixth sense which warns him of danger which as of yet is not fully developed and may yet grow only stronger
Paraphanalia:
Batmans utility belt has everything from smoke bombs, caustic acids, grappling hooks, sonic distruptors, ehanced sonar, etc.., Then he has nice little Batmobile, and Bat Cycle, BatJet, ..does he have a bat scooter as well?
Spiderman has webbing, spider tracers, stealth suit (where he can turn in invsible now..yep he can be invisble if he wanted) , he also access to speaclized utility belt he develope himself that would make Batmans belt look like it was made for the under 3 yrs old & younger category for toys.
I think you know where I’m going…I love Batman but I think without serious planning and forseight and a little luck he would lose big time against Spiderman…
But I imagine after Spiderman helped Batman up off the floor they would both have a good laugh over a good cup of hot coffee and fight the real bad guys together (well Spiderman would laugh anyways)

You certainly know your comic books 🙂 Batman would be unlikely to catch genetically enhanced Spidey, let alone beat him! I think Batman has to win in the style stakes but what about their psychology? They’ve both had trying times but Wayne seems more damaged and potentially self-destructive.
I love them both… maybe Superman could knock both their heads together? 😉 xx
